Shirt: Black with teal and white tropical leaves and dark brown stems. From the same folk at Aisokula of Fiji as #285, yet couldn’t be more different. Bold tag on pocket. 100% cotton. An example of another quality, cool shirt to have handy in the wardrobe for just about any occasion.

#288: Unnumbered Stop

#288: Unnumbered Stop. 7 Ferry Parade, Herald Island, Auckland. Link: here
Shirt: Light blue with pink and purple flowers combined with black and light green tropical leaves. Worn to work and got about as many positive comments as I ever have – even from the boss. ‘M Effert’ brand for Jay Jays Clothing. 100% cotton. Made in China. Hilarious small pocket like #185 that could only just get a pack of smokes in. So many other positives though. A real favourite.

Shirt: As generic as they come. Orange cliché pattern with white hibiscus and leaves. Cotton polyester fabric from Beautiful Superior Materials of China. Unmatched pocket and loose threads all over. This may be the only time I get around to wearing it. Nice large collar a saving grace.

#286: Stop 4870

Shirt: White with black tropical leaves printed on the inside to give the outside a sensational faded look. The label says warm iron on reverse, but I think they mean the outside? The solid dark blue pocket is not something I’ve seen in this genre before. It feels like part genius, part madness. 100% cotton. Made in China by Urban Equip. Such a comfortable fit.

#285: Stop 5689

Shirt: A cool and complex design from Aisokula or Fiji. Beige with dark brown and tan sculptures and intricate angular traditional patterns. Certainly a unique design. 100% cotton and a terrific fit.

Shirt: Made in New Zealand of 65% polyester and 35% cotton but no other details present. Blue with tan and teal tropical flowers and black leaves finished off with thick white borders. A little oversize. Unmatched pocket, but a large collar always goes well.

#283: Stop 5846

Shirt: Black with fragments of traditional patterns positioned together. Matched pocket. ‘Tapa Casuals by Harrisons’ brand of Fiji. Size M. Nice thick material, has been well worn and has some wobbly sewing that suggests it’s not the product of robots. Could have done with a bit more colour and flair though.

#282: Stop 4889

#282: Stop 4889. 90 Main Road, Kumeu. Link: here
Shirt: Terrific dark blue with faint light blue interconnected flower and traditional patterns. Features two bold columns of the same pattern down the front and back. Riptide brand, made in China. Size L. 100% polyester. Has a feel to it where I suspect wearing it all day or somewhere hot may be a mistake.

#281: Stop 5829

#281: Stop 5829. 104 Totara Road, Whenuapai, Auckland. Link: here
Shirt: Blue background sponge effect, rectangular-shaped boxes of flower and traditional patterns topped off with a wide range of black and white characters that feature an orange batik effect. Includes soldiers carrying shields and spears and men playing drums. 100% rayon. Made by ‘Top One’ but no other details. Unmatched pocket. Makes up for its lack of fit with underlying coolness. This was one of the smelliest paddocks I’ve ever stood near.

#280: Stop 5840

Shirt: Magnificent dark blue with stencilled manta rays and turtles with a rainbow of colours flowing through them. Made in Fiji by Deep Blue. Unlike #279, this has a massive, pattern-matched pocket you could fit a whole slice of toast in. What a beauty.
