Shirt: Black with marvellous orange and yellow hibiscus with bold green leaves. Clubman brand. Brilliant under-size hidden pocket you could just squeeze a pack of cards in. Feels a little synthetic but very light and breezy. A good fit too. Much better fitting than most anyway.

Shirt: Awesome brown with off-white tropical leaves and fronds. From Kai-Veikau of Fiji just like #85, #143 and #226. A very small XL in 100% cotton. Matched pocket with nice tag. Mixes things up in the office on a Friday when everyone’s expecting something loud and obnoxious.

Shirt: Disastrous, oversized, Christmas-themed number. Features Santa and semi-naked reindeer sipping coconut shell cocktails on golden sands with a backdrop of roaring surf and palm trees. The bright blue sky would have poor Bob Ross turning in his grave. Awful fit. Awful 100% polyester material. True Face brand in XL. Will make an appearance in the office Christmas week if it doesn’t spontaneous catch fire in the meantime.

Shirt: Brilliant red with sparingly placed Bird of Paradise flowers in yellow and blue, black striped tropical leaves and tan slashes. Was been worn to death by the previous owner. Labels are flayed and washed clean. Nicely doubled-over pocket by unmatched. Cool tiny collar. Buttons placed right next to the central seam like the sewist was playing Roulette. One of the best in the collection for the colours and character.

Shirt: Basically the dark version of #220. Designed in Australia and made in Bangladesh as the story goes. Black with finely detailed overlapping palm fronds. Unmatched, button-down pocket and collar at three points. Nice denim-like inlay to shoulders and collar. At the slimmer end of slim fit.

Shirt: Dark blue with surfing longboards in columns of white hibiscus. Surfboards feature stickers stating “Aloha”, “360^o”, “Hawaii” and “Nalu” (the Hawaiian word for surf). Tremendous thick coarse 100% cotton. Made in China for Hallensteins. Size M. It’s great to get hold of one of these that’s relatively new and doesn’t unleash a cannister of 1974 when you give it a little iron.

Shirt: Another P&O Cruises (South Pacific) crew shirt like #141. Ivory with green feathers, blue flowers and dark grey leaves. Absolutely spectacular in its poor choices. 100% rayon. Made in China. Size XL. Matched pocket. The odd colour choice is what really sets this garment off. A massive hit in and out of the office.

Shirt: By Tribal Origin with no other details. Orange with red tribal panels. Nice tag in the pocket but all that good work is undone by it being unmatched. Reasonably cool but a little tight for complete comfort.

Shirt: Red and white, square and rectangular stencilled flowers and leaves. Aisokula brand of Fiji. Interestingly carries both a size S and size XL tag. Take your pick I guess. Unmatched pocket. 100% rayon (the miracle fabric). I will be very upset if rayon turns out to be like asbestos – trusted for a generation then, uh-oh. Super light, comfortable and cool. Cool enough for the office.

Shirt: Intricate black and white water pattern with toothed carp. Carp seem to be feral like rats and pigeons, basically taking over whatever environment they can get themselves into and destroying it, like the Illinois River where they really have no business being. Park brand. Made in China. Size medium. 100% cotton with a cool, denim-like fabric sewn into the inside shoulders.
